This cluster is designed for those students that wish to pursue careers in mental health that focus on children and family interventions within specific treatment settings. Specifically, students will gain targeted knowledge on development and theory as it applies to children and adolescents, as well as how systems theory and family intervention can be employed in a wide variety of settings. Students within this cluster of study generally are interested in working with younger populations within schools, community mental health agencies, hospitals, and private practices that cater toward family needs.

Organizational Behavior Cluster |
This cluster is designed for those students that wish to combine their knowledge as a counselor within varied work settings. Specifically, students will gain insights into organizational development, the changing role of management, and how individuals develop their professional identities. Students within this cluster are often interested in the merging of vocation and functionality, and are interested in assisting organizations and employees in developing healthier, more meaningful work environments.

This cluster is designed for those students that understand the value of creativity in the healing process of therapy. Specifically, students will gain knowledge on the foundational techniques and overarching theories that define art as therapy. Students within this cluster often gravitate to less traditional approaches to therapy and want a more developed repertoire in which to draw from when working with diverse clientele. Art therapy is employed in a variety of settings including hospitals, community mental health centers, day treatment facilities, and retirement homes.

School Counselor Certification

This cluster is designed for those students that see their future working within an educational setting. Specifically, students will gain knowledge on curriculum generation, the fundamentals of school counseling theory, and an introduction to specific administration needs that are common in today’s schools. Students within this cluster are interested in working within an educational setting where they can administer their skills as a counselor and educator to children and adolescents in grades K-12.
