Dr. Ambadar, an accomplished researcher in the fields of facial expressions and recovered memories, has collaborated with numerous prominent researchers in the field both within the U.S. and internationally, including Paul Ekman, pioneer in facial expressions research and creator of the TV show Lie To Me. She has worked as a research scholar in the prestigious Affect Analysis Group at the University of Pittsburgh, and collaborated with world-leading experts at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. These research collaborations are currently on display on the robotics floor at the Carnegie Science Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Ambadar has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Indonesia, and published numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and conference proceedings.
Dr. Ambadar has served as grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation, and grand judge at the 2012 Intel International Science and Technology Fair.
Research Interest
Her main research interests are in the field of facial expressions, especially the dynamics of facial expression, perception of facial expressions and deception. Dr. Ambadar is a certified and experienced FACS (Facial Action Coding System) coder, and has trained numerous groups of research associates on this gold standard coding system of facial expressions.

Rachel Chung joined Carlow in Fall 2008 as assistant professor in the MBA program. Dr. Chung has a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh with a concentration in Information Systems, and a PhD in Psychology, also from the University of Pittsburgh. Her main research areas of interest are knowledge management and cognitive processes in information systems.

Enrique Mu, co-director of the MBA program, is an accomplished scholar and educator. He is editor-in-chief of the International Journal of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (IJAHP) dedicated to the diffusion of rational decision making, and U.S. director for the Latin American Society for Strategy. Dr. Mu is an accomplished scholar and educator. Prior to joining Carlow, he served as program director for the dual-degree MBA/MIS program in the Katz business school of University of Pittsburgh. Before coming to the academic, he worked for Black Box Corporation, a Data Communications Pittsburgh-based company, as business development manager for Latin America and as a customer support vice president for Comlasa Ltd., a computing solution firm, in the same region. He has been a project manager for several multimillion-dollar online banking automation projects in Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, and Chile.
He has also taught in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. His areas of interest are in the use of information technology (IT) for business decisions, strategic use of IT in the organization, telecommunications, e-commerce, and international business. Enrique speaks both Spanish and English.

Cory Maloney is an Assistant Professor at Carlow University in the School of Management and a certified Adobe Dreamweaver Instructor. He teaches Web Design, Information Technology (IT), Information Security, Communications Technology, and other IT courses at Carlow. He is also currently working on his doctorate dissertation, which is studying the effectiveness of non-profit Web sites. When not teaching or writing, he does IT consulting for local businesses and nonprofits.
Mr. Maloney is blessed to be married to his high school sweetheart, Suzanne, and they have three young boys, Luke, Joshua, and Matthew. As you may guess from his children’s names, he is a passionate Roman Catholic and loves to study and discuss Theology. His faith also motivates him to work in his parish and outside of it sharing the Gospel and working for peace and justice.

Dr. Matthews
is the Associate Dean for the School of Management at Carlow University, Chair of Carlow’s Accounting and Forensic Accounting programs and a founding member of the Forensic Accounting Academy.
Prior to joining the academia, Dr. Matthews worked for Touch Ross & Co. and Arthur Young & Co., both “Big Eight” CPA firms, directed Fisher Scientific’s international Customer Systems and Telecommunications Division, and served as a Vice President for Equibank. More recently, she has trained with the FBI and worked with the Pittsburgh District Attorney’s Office in their Fraud Investigation Unit working on cases including securities fraud, estate fraud, home financing fraud, construction fraud, an illegal massage parlor, and bankruptcy. A member of the American Accounting Association, the PICPA, the AICPA, the ACFE, and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the ACFE, where she holds the position of Vice President, Dr. Matthews has authored numerous articled and presented her work at national conventions.

Prior to January 2012, Dr. Stern was the Director and Chief Information Officer for the City of Pittsburgh where he was responsible for the administration of the City's computer systems and for technological initiatives. He managed a staff of 75 employees and consultants who provide technical support, quality assurance, infrastructure enhancements, and data security and governance. Howard holds a PhD in Political Science and Public Policy from West Virginia University. He also earned master's degrees in Public Administration and Information Technology from the University of Pittsburgh. Howard is an adjunct professor at Carlow University, where he teaches Introduction to Political Science and Politics and Technology.

Helen M. Baginski has been an adjunct assistant professor at Carlow University since 1999. She facilitates Strategic Leadership for the MBA program, Adult Learning for the PRL and Nursing MSN programs, and several communication studies courses at the undergraduate level for the Adult Degree Center program.
As an accomplished laboratory manager with 20 years of staff development experience, Helen transitioned to a career in adult learning and training/development after graduating from Carlow’s Professional Leadership program. While employed as an adjunct professor at Carlow, she worked as an independent contractor for several years before serving as a corporate training project manager who, in addition to project management, was responsible for designing leadership development curriculum and facilitating training.

Ron Lachell is a Senior Project Manager with University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Insurance Services Division. He manages their Project Management Office. Stephan has worked for both Fortune 500 companies and family-owned businesses. He specializes in crafting and designing unique innovation and business strategies leading to differentiated business models. Stephan moderates brainstorming, mind mapping and creativity sessions with executives, partners and customers to generate ideas, value models, value propositions and innovation strategies.
Stephan holds an MBA in Marketing from Cleveland States University (1991), a European Master degree from Toulouse IAE School of Management in France with a major in Innovation Management (2005) and attended The General Management Program (TGMP) at Harvard Business School (2005). He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Management degree from The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University (exp. 2013) and his thesis is titled “the Organizational Journey Towards Pricing and Value Excellence”.

Peggy McGarry joined the Carlow School of Management adjunct team in 2003. She teaches the Strategic Planning course and has taught the Business and Technology Ethics course. She is a serial entrepreneur with successful companies including Aliah, Inc. and Decision Coaches Inc. Currently she focuses her professional endeavors as an Independent Management Consultant supporting clients in all aspects of vision, mission, strategy formation as well as innovation, new product development, project management and customer listening.
Peggy has consulted with a diverse client-base across multiple industry sectors, both for profit and not-for-profit as well as government, faith based and social enterprise organizations. Sunita Mondal joined Carlow in Fall of 2008 as an adjunct faculty of the MBA programs. Dr. Mondal received her PhD in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in August 2009. Her main areas of research are analyzing the effects of public policies on labor market outcomes. She is an applied microeconomics and econometrics researcher with expertise in labor economics and public policies.

Labor and family economics: conducting empirical research on the evaluation of public policy programs implemented at the federal and state level of the government on employment and labor force participation rates. Analyzing how changes in government policies affect family formation.
Technology: Effect of the use of technology in classrooms on student engagement and learning. Measuring the effects of using a (clicker-less) live audience polling and social networks on students’ learning, engagement, and course satisfaction.
